Arlene E. Benton, 88, passed away at Prime Nursing on Friday, October 22, 2010. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2010 at Grandview Park Funeral Home, 3211 Hubbell Ave. in Des Moines.

Arlene was born in Graettinger, Iowa on August 15, 1922 to Ben and Anna (Luhman) Leary. She worked in the medical field and raised schnauzers for over twenty years. They won many awards.

Survivors include her children: Judth (Bob) Ellison of Texas, Elizabeth (John) McNulty of Des Moines, Susan (Bill Capps) Green of Des Moines, Kelly (Peggy) Green of Urbandale; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, parents, two brothers and two sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff of Prime Nursing for taking such good care of Arlene, she will be missed by all who knew her.
