PAUL S. LANE 1964 to 2010

Paul Stephen Lane, 46, died suddenly on Thursday, September 30, 2010 in Des Moines. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 4, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, located at 3663 66th Street in Urbandale. Cremation rites will follow the funeral mass on Monday and private committal services will take place at a later date.

Paul was born on May 25, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joseph R. Lane Sr. and Joanne M. Lane. He was a 1983 graduate of Urbandale High School. Paul had attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City. On May 23, 2009, Paul married Leisha J. Kiesling in Mexico and they made their home in Urbandale. He was a genuine loving and caring man, full of life and loved his family. For more than 20 years, Paul owned and operated "The Funny Bone" Comedy Club in West Des Moines as well as comedy clubs in South Bend, IN and St. Louis, MO. He had touched many lives all over the United States and will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Leisha Lane of Urbandale; daughter, Natalie Lane of Ankeny; two step-daughters, Jessie Kiesling of Des Moines and Lindsey Kiesling of Urbandale; mother, Joanne Lane of Urbandale; father, Joseph (Marilyn) Lane Sr. of West Des Moines; mother-in-law, Luella Van Wey of Johnston; siblings, Joseph Lane Jr. of Chicago, IL, Kathy (David) Adamson of Indianola, IA, Mark (Connie) Lane of Knoxville, IA, Tim (Cindy) Lane of Norwalk, IA, and Ted Lane, Mike (Lisa) Lane and Hunter Lane also all of Chicago; sister-in-law, Lori Van Wey of Ackley, IA; many loving nieces and nephews, and a host of many dear friends, employees and comedians. Paul was preceded into eternal life by his grandparents; and his father-in-law, Leslie Van Wey.

The Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, at the church where an 8 p.m. Vigil service will begin followed by a rosary.

In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made to: The Paul S. Lane Memorial Fund.
