Steven A. McNew, 53, formerly of Iowa died suddenly January 3, 2008 in Dallas, TX. Born June 13, 1954 in Des Moines, to Frank and Ruth McNew. Steve graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972 and was a member of the Lincoln High School Marching Band. Steve worked for the past 25 years as a Histology Tech in Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, California, Ohio, and just recently in Texas. He loved being a part of the Medical Field. Steve has continued his love for medicine even after his death, by donating his organs to save the lives of others. Steve loved traveling to different places, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Steve is survived by his loving wife Christie of Indiana, sons Alan McNew of Ames, Alan Jensen of Corydon, IN., Kirk Jensen of New Albany, IN., Richard Jensen of Sellersburg, IN., daughter Lori McNew of Mason City, and Samantha (Duane) Mathes of Corydon, IN., Mother Ruth McNew of Indianola, Mother-in-law Bonnie Hopes of Stuart.

Steve is also survived by brothers, Lonnie, John (Becky), Gary (Charlene), of Des Moines, Joel (Ruth) of Indianola, and sister Sheryl McNew of Indianola. Four grandchildren, Zander, Kanen, Malina and Latoya all of Indiana. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents Burt and Hilda McNew, Harrell and Bessie Utsler, father Frank McNew and sister Bonnie. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 8th, 1 p.m., at Jordan United Methodist Church, SE 4th and Hillside in Des Moines.
