Kathryn "Kay" Whitney, age 94, formerly of Hubbard, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Mill Pond Presbyterian Homes, in Ankeny, IA.

Memorial services will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard, IA. A Memorial Service will also be held Friday, 10 a.m. June 18, 2010, at the Mill Pond Retirement community, 1201 SE Mill Pond Court, Ankeny, IA 50021.

Burial will be at the Hubbard Cemetery in Hubbard, IA.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard on Monday, June 7, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Kathryn Agnes (Clark) Whitney was born in Garwin, IA, June 30, 1915. She moved to Hubbard in 1932 after graduation from Garwin High School.

On April 3, 1934, Kay married Glenn B. Whitney in Webster City, IA. She spent the most of her life in Hubbard as a housewife and a few years working in the Hubbard School kitchen. She and Glenn moved to Ankeny in 1996.

Kay was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard, IA.

Kay was called to be with her Savior on Wednesday evening, June 2, 2010, in her home at Mill Pond, where she passed away from lung cancer.

She leaves to mourn, her daughter Connie (Bob) Ruths of Ankeny, IA; son Craig (Judy) of Slater, IA; two grandsons and two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and six nieces and nephews.
