Larry L. Bass, 58, died on August 10, 2009 at Hospice Kavanagh House-56th Street in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, W.D.M., IA. Per Larry's wishes, cremation rites will follow the funeral service.
Visitation will held from 5 to 8 p.m., today at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He was a carpenter by trade and for over 30 years owned L.L. Bass Construction Company. He proudly served in the US Air Force where he was stationed in Italy and Germany. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, hot rods, bicycling, taking long walks, canoeing, target shooting and he was a member of the NRA.
He will be missed by his wife of 31 years, Cindy(Mally); children, Todd, Nick and his wife Jenny(Holland), and Amy, all of Des Moines; siblings, Barby and husband, Jim Jones of Pontiac, IL, Gene Bass, Jr. of Ankeny and John and wife, Diane Bass, of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Bass, Sr., his mother, Barbara Bass Riccio and brother, Ben.
