Diela Alida Hartman, 79, of 1146 E. Eighth St. died of a respiratory ailment Wednesday at Parkridge Manor Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hartman was born in Hamilton County and lived in Des Moines about 74 years. She was a homemaker.

Among survivors are two stepdaughters, Juanita Rush and Joanne Rush, both of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Jackie Beck, three sons, Morton Machir, Ronald Machir and Victor Machir, and a sister, Lillian Beener, all of Des Moines; four brothers, Robert Henderson of San Jose and George Henderson, Richard Henderson and Morton Henderson, all of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible.
