Betty K. Goggin, 90, passed away on December 25, 2004 at her residence of lung cancer. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28 at Brooks Funeral Care University Chapel.

Betty was born on July 19, 1914 in Buffalo, NY and had lived in Grimes for the past 20 years. She married Edwin Goggin who preceded her in death in 2002. They were married 62 years.

Betty was a caregiver, having taken care of her in-laws, parents and husband in her own home, a total of over 20 years of unselfish giving. She was happiest cooking, baking and at gatherings of family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Dan Goggin of Grimes; daughter, Judy (Don) Hood of Souix Falls, SD; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to Mercy Home Hospice for making it possible for Betty to live out her final days in comfort and without pain at her home.
