Esther Cornelia "Omi" (Hof) Bauman, 80, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away on Friday; February 22, 2008 at Kavanagh on 56th. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30pm Sunday at the funeral home. There will be a private family interment on Monday; February 23, 2008 at the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Esther was born January 3, 1928 in Dortmund, Germany. She worked as a Social Worker and also ran a Winchels donut shop. She loved spending time with her family. Omi enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and baking.

Esther is survived by her children, Gordon, Shirley (Tim) Hesseltine, Jennifer (Robert) Payne and Michael; her grandchildren, Michael, Allen, Marie, Daniel, Amanda, Amber, Kyle, Lori, Spencer, Bobby, Mitchel Thomas, Hannah, Danny, Abigail, James, Dominic and Ryan; her sister, Laurie (Hans) Moeller of Germany. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen and her brother Harry.

Memorial Contributions in Esther’s name are suggested to Hospice of Central Iowa.
