SANDRA SLATON, WEST DES MOINES

Sandra L. Slaton, 54, of West Des Moines died of breast cancer Oct. 16, 2007, at Kavanagh House on 56th.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 19, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home on Westown Parkway.
Sandy Slaton was born Sept. 28, 1953, in Des Moines to Dean and Darlene Graham and was a 1971 graduate of Urbandale High School. On Sept. 18, 1976, she married John H. Slaton. The family resided in the state of New York, Pennsylvania and Indiana before returning to Iowa. Sandy worked as a bookkeeper at Les Mess Environmental Support in Truro and at Cretex Midwest in West Des Moines. She was a 15-year member of Beta Sigma Phi.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Tom Slaton; and her parents.

She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Slaton of Kansas; a brother, Mike Graham of Des Moines; and a sister, Anita Graham of North Carolina
