Infant Died Friday After Heart Surgery

Susan Kay Messerschmidt, 21 month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Messerschmidt of West Des Moines died last Friday, May 18, at Blank Memorial hospital in Des Moines after undergoing heart surgery the previous Wednesday.

The infant’s mother is the former Betty Chickering of Winterset. The baby was born in Des Moines July 28, 1954.

Surviving are the parents; a brother, Richard; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Messerschmidt of West Des Moines.
