Posting an Effective Query

ABOUT POSTING A QUERY

Hello Everyone-

Many times I also post queries on various genealogy boards for assistance with my family research.

I am always careful to use the words "Please" and "Thank You" in my queries.

I find that folks are more likely to help someone who posts a polite, organized query.

I understand that people are very willing to help and are more likely to do so if I state clearly what I am trying to find or verify.

I try to provide as much information as possible and let them know what information I have already researched.

I thank them for their time and effort when I post the query and then again when they respond.

I also never post in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS because it is hard to read and just looks bad on the page.

Thank you.
