1880's Newspapers

Palmer did not exist until 1900. Does anyone know what newspapers would have included obituaries for a Mary Cornwall Nolan, who died in 1888 about six miles east of what would become Palmer? She attended the Catholic Church located on the Lizard Creek, and is buried in that Cemetary. Perhaps Clare or Pioneer had a newspaper then. Thanks.
