Francis Maynard Grossnickle, the baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Grossnickle was born in the vicinity of Laurens, Iowa, Oct.18, 1910 and departed this life June 3, 1915 age 4 years, 7 months, and 15 days.

Little Francis had not lost his baby prattles and was looked upon as a Jewel in the family and was loved by many outside of the home circle. He was a faithful attendant in the Busy Bee Sunday school class of Mrs. T.A. Robinson and although sick only the last Sunday of his life he cried to go to Sunday school. But as a rose bud plucked prematurely before it opened into a beautiful rose, Francis was snatched from lifes stage and carried away to bloom in the paradise garden. Jehovah wanted him to sing among the angels and he took him to gloryland where all such children go. His tender mortal frame was interred in the Laurens Cemetery but he is not there, but with God who gave him.

A short devotion was held at the home conducted by the under signed pastor and at the grave by J.F. Burton, pastor of the church of the Brethern of Greene, Iowa.
