Death Calls Mrs. J. H. Goodchild

Mrs. J. H. Goodchild passed away at her home here last Monday morning after a long illness, suffering from a cancer.

Annetta Spencer was born in Winnebago county, Wisconsin, on October 17, 1858 and was 57 years, 10 months and 24 days old at the time of her demise. She was the daughter of T. Milton and Catherine Spencer.

At the age of 14 she came with her parents to Iowa, settling in Osceola county. On January 10,1883, she was united in marriage to J. Henry Goodchild, at Sibley Iowa. Shortly after their marriage, they came to this county, and have resided here continuously.

To this union seven children were born, five of whom, with the father, survive to mourn her untimely death. They are: Mrs. R. E. Green of Rolfe; Anna, Katie, Sadie and Ned, who are at home. Mrs. Jessie Knight passed away on December 12, 1915, and the other child died in infancy. Besides the husband and children, deceased is survived by seven grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral was held at the Methodist church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and the remains laid to rest in the local cemetery. Rev. S. T. Grove of Plover, had charge of the services.
