Christenson Dies At Marathon; Last Rites Held Tuesday

Martin Christenson, 73, who formerly lived on a farm west of Laurens, died Sunday morning (November 25, 1956) at his home in Marathon.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hitchcock Funeral Home in Laurens, with the Rev. Milo Hall of Fort Dodge officiating. Pall bearers were Robert Christenson and Glenn Siddall, Laurens; Lester Shellabarger, Curlew; Don Eickenberry and Frank Behrendsen, Gilmore City; and Leo Greenland, Rockford. Burial was at Gilmore City.

The Christensons lived near Gilmore City and in Minnesota before coming to the farm between Marathon and Laurens. When they retired from farming several years ago they moved to Marathon.

Survivors
Mr. Christenson is survived by his wife, the former Ethel Greenland; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Brewster of Laurens and Mrs. Harry Rice of Lake City; three grandchildren; three brothers, Nels Christenson of Laurens, Otto Christenson of Rolfe and Lester Christenson of Marathon; and two sisters, Mrs. Ben Winters of Cyrus, Minn.; and Mrs. Sophia Paine of Gilmore City.
