OBITUARY
Emmitt Emmanuel Runneberg was born September 3. 1911, near Laurens, Iowa He was the son of Nels and Alma (Swensen) Runneberg He attended Cummings No. 3 Rural School On December 25, 1937, Emmitt married Martha Petersen at Mallard. The couple settled near Laurens on the same farm that Emmitt was bom and raised. He retired from farming in 1982 In September of 1994, Emmitt entered the Good Samaritan Center in Laurens.
Emmitt was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church He especially enjoyed raising and training horses.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of Laurens; son. Clifford (Peggy) Runneberg of Coeur d'Alene, ID. daughter, Diane Bauer of Sioux Falls, SD, five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Alice Bonn of Aryshire
Emmitt was preceded in death by his parents; three bothers, Arnold, Carl and Lawrence Runneberg; and two sisters, Florence and Patunia Runneberg.
