The Lazy Men's Club of Pocahontas, a friendly organization which boasts 75 members was formed in 1926 by banker, Charles Watts. When Mr. Watts came to Pocahontas he suggested to several businessmen that the town needed a social group where men of the community could meet from time to time to share good fellowship, ideas and to let their hair down.

Professional cares were set aside once a month as the club met to enjoy a meal and assorted card games. It just so happens the meetings were held during the colder months when the towns golf club is closed.

In 1947, some of the members were Francis Kelly, Jerry Strathman, Phil Muehl, Joe Pattee, Steve Everett, Frank Strathman, William Linnan, Tony Mackovets, Tony Vodraska, Hugh Moore, Bob Holder and Gene Strathman.
