My grandfather was John F. Clarey, Sr. and he did live in the LeMars area. His father was Thomas Francis Clarey born 1868 and his father was Thomas Clary/Clarey. I don't believe that we have a Pat in our direct line, although Thomas Clary/Clarey born about 1840 in Ireland is as far back as I have been able to trace. Thomas's mother's name was Ellen.

Thomas may have had an older brother John Clary (1828-1892) who lived and died at Salix, Iowa. They lived near each other in Illinois when they first emigrated and then ended up in Iowa.
