I will do some digging. But tell me what was your Mother's name? I believe (am doing this from memory) that Elgin #6 was the school house in Seney, Iowa. I will have to confirm that, though. I attended that schoolhouse myself. I might recognize your Mother's name as one of the teachers during the time I was there.

I am Linda Ewin Ziemann, attended Elgin Twp school, Seney, Iowa...1953-1964. My ancestors were in Seney in the 1880's...and one of my great aunt's taught that school for a short time.
