Obituary--Clarence W. Reeves

Clarence William Reeves, 67, a Plymouth county native, died Thursday (April 25, 1974) at St. Luke's hospital, Sioux City after a long illness. He had been at the hospital for a month.

Mr. Reeves was born May 20, 1906, in Plymouth county, the son of William and Sarah Rose Reeves. His marriage to Mae Bock took place Feb. 21, 1931, in LeMars.

He had farmed near Seney until his retirement in 1955 and was a lifetime Plymouth county resident. His home was at 721 Third Ave, SE.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mauer funeral chapel in LeMars. Rev. Brandt Freeburg will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Mae, LeMars; a son, Cletus Reeves, Ward, S.D., and a daughter, Mrs. Don (Doris) Calkins, Rock Rapids; four grandchildren, Arlette and Janelle Reeves and Diane and Debra Calkins; a brother, George Reeves, LeMars; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Pearl) Kurtz, LeMars; Mrs. Allen (sic--Allan) (Caroline) (sic--Carolyn) Strong, Ocean Springs, Miss., and Mrs. Vera Cummings, Palo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
