Mrs. Katherine Reeves

Mrs. Katherine Engels Reeves 87, LeMars, wife of the late C. W. Reeves, died early Thursday at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness. She had lived at the hospital since July, 1970.

Funeral services are pending at the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.

She was born April 25, 1884, in Germany and came to the United States at the age of three where the family settled near Seney. She lived there over 30 years and the couple moved to LeMars in the early 1940's. After living in LeMars for 14 years the couple moved to Sioux City. Mr. Reeves died in July 1970.

Mrs. Reeves was active in the LeMars Sunshine club and was president of that group from 1949 to 1957. She had been a member of the LeMars chapter since 1936.

Mr. and Mrs. Reeves were married in LeMars March 9, 1910.

Survivors are a son Donald of Davenport; two grandchildren and a great grandchild.
