Mrs. Wm. Penning Dies At Hospital; Set Services Friday

Mrs. Wm. Penning, 64, died Tuesday morning, April 26, at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church in LeMars, Friday, April 29, at 2 p.m. Rev. James Ransom will officiate. Burial will be in the city cemetery under the direction of Mauer Funeral home.

Bessie May Penning was born April 7, 1891, in Carnes, Iowa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Reeves. She was married to Wm. Penning in LeMars, Jan. 12, 1916. Two children were born to this union, Wayne of LeMars and Mrs. Ralph (Rose) Wickersham of Norwalk, Cal.

Mrs. Penning is survived by her husband, two children, four grandchildren, Wendell, Shirley and Lowell Penning and Roger Osborne (?--difficult to read Roger's last name) of Minneapolis, Minn., and (unreadable) relatives.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church for the past 40 years. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors, Rebekah lodge and the Sunshine Club.

Dinner will be served in the church parlors for relatives and friends at noon, and lunch will be served after services by the church ladies.

Mrs. Penning will be missed by a large number of friends. She was a good neighbor, always striving to do good for others.
