Life's End
RITES SET SATURDAY FOR WILL PENNING--
LONGTIME WASHINGTON TWP. FARM OPERATOR

Will Penning, 70, longtime Washington township farmer, died Tuesday in Sacred Heart hospital after an illness of several months.

Mr. Penning was born Feb. 27, 1890, in Freeport, Ill. He came to Plymouth county with his parents at the age of five and has resided in the LeMars area since that time.

He married Bessie May Reeves, Jan. 12, 1916, in LeMars.

Survivors include a son, Wayne, California; a daughter, Mrs. L. H. McGrew of Norwalk, Cal.; a sister, Mrs. Lena Reese (sic--Rees) of LeMars, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian church in LeMars. Rev. James Ransom will officiate and burial will be in LeMars cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Mr. Penning was an elder of the First Presbyterian church and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie, who died in 1955; parents Eilert and Wuebka (sic--Wubka) Penning; five brothers and three sisters.
