Obituaries--Richard Hodgson
Longtime Farmer Dead at Age 68Richard Hodgson, 68, Route 2, LeMars, died Friday, October 8, 1993, at his residence.
Mr. Hodgson was born Oct. 18, 1924, in LeMars, the son of William and Sara (sic--Sarah) (Allison) Hodgson. He married Velma Wetrosky on March 5, 1946, in LeMars. She died in 1983.
He was a farmer, a member of the First United Methodist Church in LeMars, and a charter member of FFA. He was also active in the county 4-H program.
Survivors are three sons, Gerald Hodgson and wife, Margie, Rodney Hodgson and wife, Lynelle, and Terry Hodgson and wife, Lisa, all of LeMars; and seven grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Billy, Roy, Ryan, Aaron and Sarah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Timothy.
Funeral was at 1:30 p.m. today (Monday) at First United Methodist Church, LeMars. Rev. Lynn Potter officiated and burial was in Memorial Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation was Sunday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
