Obituaries--Pauline Dempster

Pauline V. Dempster, 79, of LeMars died Tuesday Oct. 19, 1999, at the Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999 at the LeMars Bible Church. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 1999 at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday evening at the funeral home.

Pauline Vesta Parks was born March 17, 1920, at Union Township, rural Plymouth Coutny to Arthur and Bessie (Phelps) Parks. She was baptized at the Free Methodist Church in LeMars. She grew up in Union Township, graduated from Union Consolidated School and was married to Lowell Dempster on March 17, 1938, at the Free Methodist Church in LeMars. The Dempsters were the parents of three children, Donna, Ed, and Roger.

Mrs. Dempster was active in the Free Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school in LeMars and later in Sioux City. She was active in the Plymouth County Farm Bureau, Sunshine Club, and the Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed reading and working word puzzles. Mrs. Dempster enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daugher and son-in-law, Donna and Bill Toole of Danville, Calif.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Paulette Dempster and Roger and Karen Dempster, all of LeMars; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Charlotte "Bonnie" Lyons of Boone, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lowell, on July 31, 1995; three brothers, Ronald, Wilbur, and Lowell Parks; and a sister, Aurel Collett.
