Obituary--Mrs. Bertha Tucker

Mrs. Charles (Bertha Mae) Tucker, 82 (incorrect-84), Storm Lake, a former longtime LeMars resident, died Monday (May 31, 1976) at Storm Lake after a long illness. She had lived in Storm Lake since 1969.

Bertha Mae Dempster was born Jan. 10, 1892, in Plymouth county to John and Phoebe Hodgson Dempster. Her marriage to Charles R. Tucker took place in July, 1923, in LeMars. (July 25)

Her husband, who died in November, 1972, had been active in the grocery business for many years and later was manager of the Plymouth Farmers Mutual Ins. Co. in LeMars.

An Eastern Star (OES) service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mauer funeral chapel, with Rev. Everett Staats officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Order fo the Eastern Star and the Methodist church.

Survivors are two sons, Dr. Charles W. Tucker and Wilbur Tucker, both of Storm Lake; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Marian Kiest, Spring City, Tenn.

She also was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
