Obituaries--Lauren R. Featherston

Lauren "Larry" R. Featherston, 75, Edwards, Ill., died Feb. 1 at home.

Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at the Wilton Mortuary, Peoria, Ill., Rev. Eugene W. Mace officiating. Burial will be at the Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Ill.

Featherston was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Kingsley. He was the son of Gregg and Mabel (Dempster) Featherston. He married Virginia M. Conde in Hot Springs, Ark., on Sept. 30, 1950. Virginia died in 1972.

A registered pharmicist, Featherston was director of the pharmacy at Methodist Medical Center from 1955 until retiring in 1983. He later worked at other Peoria-area pharmacies.

He was a WWII Army veteran and member CBI Veterans and Grand Masonic Lodge of Iowa 470, AF & AM.

He was a former member of the Downtown Rotary Club of Peoria.

Survivors include one son, Robert J. Featherston and wife Dawn, Peoria, Ill., one sister, Celeste (sic-Celesta) Krieg and husband Phil, Kingsley, one sister-in-law, Nina Featherston, LeMars and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry.
