Obituary--Mrs. Jack Cook

Mrs. Jack (Lorraine L.) Cook, 76, LeMars, a Plymouth County native, died today Friday, Oct. 12, 1990 at her home after a long illness.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Seney United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Howard H. Marty officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home.

The former Lorraine Utecht was born Dec. 30, 1913, in Lincoln Township, Plymouth County, to Harris and Fran Law Utecht. She grew up and attended rural school in Lincoln Township. She married John A. Cook Jan. 3, 1933 (error--1934), in LeMars. The couple farmed for many years in Elgin Township. They moved to LeMars in 1964.

Survivors are her husband, Jack, of LeMars; a son, Dale and his wife Marilyn Cook of LeMars; four grandchildren, Gary and his wife, Mollie Cook of LeMars; Terry and his wife, Julie Cook of Sioux Falls; Lorrie and her husband Ron Mortensen of LeMars and Larry of New Ulm, Minn.; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Utecht and Carl Utecht of LeMars; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Bahny, Mrs. LaVonne Laird and Mrs. Dorothy J. (no last name in obit).

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Oris and a great-grandson, Christopher Mortensen.
