LE MARS, Iowa – Anna M. De Blauw, 87, of Le Mars died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1993, at her residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Dale J. George officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, wth a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mrs. De Blauw was born Oct. 4, 1905, on a farm near Struble in Elgin Township, Plymouth County, the daughter of John and Margaret (Schroeder) Bruscher. She moved with her parents as a child to a farm in the Remsen and Oyens area and attended school at St. Catherine’s Parochial School at Oyens. The couple farmed near Hartington, Neb., for a few years and then northwest of Crofton, Neb., until 1944. They then moved to Le Mars where they farmed north of town until retiring in 1983.

Mrs. De Blauw was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Christian Mother’s Society.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Melvin and his wife, Alice De Blauw of West St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Jeanette) Huffman of Terre Haute, Ind., and Mrs. Darnelle Nissen of Theodosia, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Emil Bruscher and Matt Bruscher, both of Le Mars; and a sister, Mrs. Justine Eufers of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Graser, Mrs. Helen Flynn and Mrs. Viola Kennedy.
