Milton J. Dreckman, 68, of LeMars died Monday in the LeMars hospital after being stricken at his home.
Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church in LeMars. The Rev. Lloyd Carel officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke-Feurstein Funeral Home.
Mr. Dreckman was born Aug. 15, 1915, in LeMars and was a lifelong resident. He married Charlotte Eilers Nov. 18, 1941 in LeMars. They farmed near LeMars for 28 years, retiring to town 12 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David of Orange City and Jerome and Michael, both of LeMars; six daughters, Charlene Wells of Reno, Nev., Mrs. Richard (Karen) Gaffey, Mrs. Lee (Marlis) Oordt, Mrs. Richard (Mary Kay) Halter and Mrs. Robert (Lisa) Puetz, all of LeMars, and Mrs. Patrick (Joelle) Halter, of Hinton; a sister, Mrs. Hyacinth Lahr of Sauk Centre, Minn.; three brothers, Clarence of Lindstrom, Minn., James of Marcus, and Reinard of LeMars; 17 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
