Ida Klave; 86, of Le Mars, lA, died on Wednesday, January 14, 1998, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Services were held on Friday afternoon, January 16, 1998, at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, the Reverend Gary Landsness of St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars, officiating, Burial was in the cemetery at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural Plymouth County, IA.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. Ida Klave was born February 4, 1911, at Boulder, CO, the youngest child of Cad and Tena (Dirks) Klave. Her mother died when she was 3 months old. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Craig. She was raised on a farm near Craig and attended a nearby country school. She lived at home in Craig, and later moved with her father to Le Mars and helped to care for her aging father until his death. She later worked for several years at Plymouth Life in the dietary department. The past three years, she had made her home at The Abbey in Le Mars, where she enjoyed attending church services.

Survivors include four nieces, Fern Detloff of Le Mars, LaDonna Oltmanns and her husband Larry of Craig, JerLois Renken and her husband Wilbur of Le Mars, and Joyce Lunstra and her husband Roger of Sioux Falls, SD; a nephew and his wife, Kenneth and Audrey Klave of Le Mars; a sister-in-law, Clara Klave of Le Mars; and her roommate of over 30 years, Henrietta Herman of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, William, Eddie, Harm, and Alfred Klave; two infant brothers; and a niece, La Vonne Miller.
