Mrs. Orrin (Ella) Kelly, 88, Odebolt, former longtime LeMars resident, died Wednesday (Dec. 31, 1980) at Colonial Manor nursing home, Odebolt, after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in LeMars. Rev. George McFadden will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary cemetery, Remsen, under direction of the Luedtke funeral home in LeMars.

Rosary by the Third Order of St. Francis was at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and the parish will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Friday. Catholic Daughters of the Americas will recite the rosary at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kelly, the former Ella Berner, was born Aug. 9, 1892, in LeMars to Otto and Anna Streng Berner. She married Mr. Kelly June 6, 1917, in LeMars. They farmed in Fredonia township near Remsen until moving to LeMars.

Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kelly. Robert died Oct. 1, 1979; Edward was killed in World War II; John, Kathleen and Margaret died in infancy.

Mrs. Kelly was active in politics, Gold Star Mothers and CDA.

Survivors are her daughter-in-law, Ruth Kelly, Odebolt; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ottillia Freyman, LeMars, and two brothers, Felix and Edward, both of Fort Dodge.
