Mrs. John Klohs

Mrs. John H. Klohs, 66, Route 1, Maurice, died Wednesday [December 29, 1971] at her rural Maurice home after an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be Saturday Jan. 1, 1972, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church in LeMars with Rev. Robert Hanthorn officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under direction of the Mauer funeral home. A prayer service will held Friday at 8:30 p.m.

The former Mary Alice Hamilton, she was born April 8, 1905, at Wilderado, Tex., a daughter of the later Walter O. and Mary Alice Boyd Hamilton.

Her marriage to Mr. Klohs took place June 12, 1924, at Phoenix, Ariz.

Mrs. Klohs, a homemaker, came to LeMars in 1928 and moved to a farm near Maurice in 1941 where she has resided the last 30 years.

Mrs. Klohs was very active in church work and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are her husband, John, of rural Maurice; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Harriet) Goslin of Ames and Johnnie L. Ball of Ankeny; two brothers, Howard Hamilton of Florence, Ariz., and Robert Hamilton of LaFayette, Calif.; her step-mother, Mrs. N.A. Hamilton of Colton, Calif.; six grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
