Mrs. John W . Johnson

Mrs. John W. Johnson, 76, longtime LeMars and area resident, died at Floyd Valley hospital Tuesday after an illness of several months.

The former Lena Siebens, she was born June 30,1891, at Minonk, Illinois , and moved to Plymouth county when a child. She was married April 22, 1909, to John W. Johnson. The couple farmed near LeMars, retiring in 1946. He died in 1962 at LeMars.

She was the daughter of the late Eilt and Frances Sastoff Siebens.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran church,Grant township. Rev. Robert Reitz will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, William B. Johnson, Brunsville; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Renken and Mrs. Marvin Buhmann,both of Le Mars; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Borchers, Ireton; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Henry; three brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Christ Lutheran church.
