DARLENE ROEHRICH
Darlene Roehrich, 68, of Hinton died Monday, June 3, 2002, at the Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City. Darlene Trometer was born September 5, 1933, in Merrill, the daughter of Peter and Louis (Kamm) Trometer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church of Merrill. She received her education in Merrill. Darlene was united in marriage to Walter Roehrich on May 16, 1953, at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill. Darlene began her career as a tech aide at St. Joseph hospital in Sioux City in 1965. She continued with the hospital mainly in the obstetrics and gynecology department and retired from Marian Medical Center in 1989. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and playing pinochle. Darlene also enjoyed watching and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. In later years her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Walter Roehrich, of Hinton; two children Patty Pageler of Hinton, and Randy and his wife Michaeline Roehrich of Hinton; five grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law Geraldine and Lloyd Wiech of Hinton; a brother-in-law Lawrence Blackmore of Hinton; a sister-in-law Pat Trometer of Merrill. Preceded her in death by her parents, two brothers Leonard in infancy and Robert Trometer, a sister Georganna Blackmore. Funeral services were held Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Hillside Cemetery at Merrill.
