FORREST JONES
Forrest “Pat” Jones, 79, of Hinton died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness. Services were held Saturday, June 15, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Casper Post 477. Mr. Jones was born April 29, 1923, in Sioux City, the son of Floyd and Ella (Richards) Jones. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11 as a gunnery instructor. He was a lifelong Hinton resident. He married Irene Bogenrief on June 5, 1947, in Hinton. He worked for several auto/truck dealerships in the parts department. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years as a contract carrier. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and American Legion Casper Post 477 of Hinton. He enjoyed sports, and the outdoors, especially golf, baseball, fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife Irene Jones; a daughter Julie Anne Jones of Deadwood, South Dakota; a son and his wife Denny and Lisa Jones of Hinton; three brothers Dave Jones and his wife Margaret of Sioux City; Tom Jones of Washington; Larry Jones and his wife Trish of Sioux City; two sisters Evelyn Woolworth of Sioux City; and Theta Howell of Glendale, Arizona, and four grandchildren. Preceded him in death by two sons Steve and Richard Jones, his parents, four brothers Lowell, Gerald, Wayne, and John Jones.
