SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MAX YOERGER
Funeral services for Max Yoerger, 86, who died Tuesday [September 7, 1954] at St. Joseph’s Mercy hospital, Sioux City, after an illness of three weeks, will be held Friday, September 10, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s church, Ellendale.
Rev. Lloyd Carel will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Yoerger was born Sept. 1, 1868, at Gamshurst, Amt Buhl, Baden, Germany. He came to the United States in 1885 at the age of 17. He married Theresea Zink, Nov. 15, 1897. He had farmed in Liberty township for a number of years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rose Eberhard of Merrill; five sons, Raymond, Frank, Edmund, Harry and Charles, all of Merrill; 18 grandchildren, and a brother, Herman, in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Louie, a daughter, Edna; six sisters and four brothers.
