Edwin Borchers
Edwin Borchers, 63, Akron, lifelong Plymouth county resident, died unexpectedly Monday morning (Nov. 26, 1979) at Floyd Valley hospital, Le Mars, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at St. John’s American Lutheran church in Le Mars. Rev. Thomas Lee and Rev. David Kramer officiated. Burial was in St. John’s Lutheran church cemetery, rural Akron, under direction of the Mauer funeral home, Le Mars.
Edwin Dietrick Borchers was born June 4, 1916, in Prestion township to August and Frieda Martfield Borchers. He was a lifelong area farmer. He married Ruth Pennington Jan. 13, 1951, in Omaha. He was a member of St. John’s American Lutheran Church, Le Mars.
Survivors arehis wife, Ruth, route 3, akron; three brothers, Fred of Le mars, August of Seney and Raymond of Washington, D. C. and a sister, Mrs. Louis (Alice) Heeren, Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Clara Heeren.
