BETTY JAUER
Betty Jauer, 76, of Le Mars died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City. Betty Jauer was born December 14, 1921, on the family farm near Hinton, the daughter of Albert and Julia (Westbury) Jauer. She attended country school in Hungerford Township and graduated from Hinton High School. She attended Western Union College in Le Mars. Betty taught country school for several years worked as a secretary and had worked in department stores in Sioux City and Le Mars for several years. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton for several years. She was currently a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Monica Jauer of Hinton; two sisters Mildred Lembcke of Hinton and Jean and her husband the Rev. John Israel of Loveland, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Lois Schulz. Funeral services were held on Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars; burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery rural Hinton. Pallbearers included Roger Jauer, Merlin Muecke, Jim Jauer, Stan Jauer, Stan Hageman and Dale Riediger.
