Eugene ‘Gene” Binneboese, 70, of Sioux City, Iowa, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City. Funeral Services were held on Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton with Rev. Sean Smallwood of Concordia Lutheran Church in Sioux City officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Casper American Legion Post #477 of Hinton was in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kristopher Binneboese, Lucas Binneboese, Joshua Binneboese, Adam Binneboese, Carl Binneoese, Benjamin Erbert, Nicholas Mogan, and Thomas Lovejoy, Honorary pallbearers were Brenda Foster, Rita Foster, Jessica Lovejoy, Amy Lovejoy, Laura Binneboese, Christina Morgan, Andew Lovejoy, and Mason Binneboese, all of whom are grandchildren of Mr. Binneboese. Albert Eugene Binneboese was born September 28, 1927, on the family farm in Plymouth County east of Hinton, to Albert H. and Emma (Helmke) Binneboese. Eugene attended county school in Lincoln Township and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1945. He served his county in the United States Army from 1946 to 1948. After his honorable discharge from the service, Gene returned to Plymouth County to farm. Gene was united in marriage to Mildred ‘Mick’ Bielenberg on July 12, 1952, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Gene and Mick had made their home on a farm east of Hinton, where Gene farmed from 1948 to1993 when they moved to Sioux City. After Gene had moved to Sioux City he was still very active on the farm. He was member of Trinity Lutheran Church past president and member of the Hinton School Board, and a member of the Casper American Legion Post #477 of Hinton. Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Mildred of Sioux City, 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Dennis and Debra Binneboese, Stephen and Terrie Binneboese, James and Rebecca Binneboese all of Hinton, and Mark Binneboese of Sacramento California, 2 daughters and son-in-law, Lynn Marie and Tom Morgan of Moville and Lisa Sue and Douglas Lovejoy of Urbandale,. a brother and sister-in-law Donal and Marga Binniboese of Hinton. 2 sisters, Norma Maxine of Shenandoah Iowa and Imelda Merlin of Alameda California; 16 grandchildren. He preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Eldora McEntaffer and Lucille Rieman, 3 brother-in-law Paul Merlin, Edward Maxine, and Mark McEntaffer,
