Obituary

Mrs. Minnie Borchers

Mrs. Bernard (Minnie) Borchers, 91, route 1, Ireton (rural Craig), died Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Floyd Valley hospital after a year illness. She had lived at the hospital the last year.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Preston township, rural Akron, with Rev. James Sandvik officiating.

Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, rural Akron, under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

The former Minnie Siebens, Mrs Borchers was born July 29, 1880, in Germany, a daughter of the late Eilert and Frances Saatoff Siebens.

She came to the United States and Monee, Ill., at age 1 and as a child moved to Plymouth county where she has since resided.

She married Bernard C. Borchers Feb. 24, 1899, in Preston township, rural Akron.

Mrs. Borchers was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, Preston township, and the Ladies circle of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953; a son Eilert; and an infant son,; a grandson; three brothers, Claus, Gert and John Siebens and four sisters, Anna Miller, Dena Fischer, Sena Plueger and Lena Johnson.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Anna Moeller and Mrs. Helen Stuckenbruck, both of Sioux Center; two sons, Louis and William H. Borchers, both of rural Ireton, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
