Obituary

Mrs. Freda Johnson

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John American Lutheran church, LeMars, for Mrs. Freda Herrietta Johnson, 77, LeMars, who died Thursday.

Rev. Imbrock and Rev. Paul Tobiason will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery in Preston township.

Prayer services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the Mauer Funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson was born on April 1, 1891, in Germany. She came to Plymouth county when she was five and lived in rural Plymouth county until she retired to LeMars in 1943.

Freda Herrietta Martfeld was married Dec. 31, 1909, to Maynard Borchers, who died Jan. 12, 1944. On Aug. 21, 1948, she married Norman Johnson. He died Sept. 28, 1956.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Walter; two brothers, Dietrick and Hans, and two sisters, Tena Weber and Mrs. Augusta Onken.

She was a member of St. John American Lutheran church, LeMars.

Survivors include four sons, Fred Borchers, LeMars, Edwin Borchers, Akron; August Borchers, LeMars, and Raymond Borchers, Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Clara) Heeren, LeMars, and Mrs. Louis (Alice) Heeren, LeMars; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Martfeld, LeMars, and one sister, Mrs. Meta Wilken, LeMars.
