MRS. H. BERG PASSES AWAY

HER DEATH A SUDDEN SHOCK TO COMMUNITY

Could not Survive Operation And Succumbed to the Inevitable Her Departure Mourned.

Our little city was shocked and saddened Tuesday, when it was reported that Mrs. Herman Berg had passed away. Death came to her so suddenly that people could hardly realize it to be true, since the writer talked to her in the C. H. Albers store only a short time ago and little thought it would be our lot to write her obituary of few days hence.

Mrs. Berg took a severe pain and her physician advised an operation as the only chance, but she did not survive the ordeal.

Mrs. Berg was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a conscientious Christian, a faithful member of Christ Lutheran church of Grant township. She always had a pleasant word for those she met and all who knew her respected her highly.

She was 38 years, 7 months and 21 days old and the mother of nine children, one child having preceded her to the better land.

So now she is survived by her husband and eight young children to mourn the untimely demise of a dear wife and mother.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the church, Rev. J. D. Meyer, her pastor, officiating, and in his sermon spoke words of comfort and performed the beautiful ritualistic service of the church.

The Journal joins with the many friends of this family in extending our heart sustaining influence of the Christian faith may be their chief consolation. The pall bearers were Carl Rhettetspacher, John Westhoff, Theo. Plueger, Carl Arendt, Gerd Westhoff and Dick Westhoff, all neighbors. John Beely of Le Mars had charge of the funeral. Struble Journal.
