Lois Alvera Steffen, 84, of Remsen, Iowa, passed away June 20, 2013, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen IA, after a lengthy journey with cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. from Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Pastor Dennis Martens officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will follow in the Remsen Community Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

Lois was born Dec. 27, 1928, the daughter of William and Ethel (Eyer) Kelsheimer. She was one of eight children.

Lois married Everald Steffen on July 27, 1963 at Remsen. Everald passed away Sept. 26, 2009.

Survivors include her sisters, Margaret Hamann of Battle Creek, IA, Vera (Wesley) Baldwin of Anthon, IA; Brothers, Roger (Barb) Kelsheimer of Melcher, IA and Jimmy (Shirlene) Kelsheimer of Anthon, IA; Sisters-in-law, Ellen (Orlin) Pratt and Rosemary Liesner of Remsen.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Thomas and Dean, sister, Ruth Kroll, and brother-in-law, Vernon Steffen.
