MRS. ALVINA JEFFERS

Mrs. Alvina Jeffers, longtime Plymouth county resident, died at the Sacred Heart hospital on August 8, 1958, after a sickness lasting several months. Alvina Dorthea Peterson was born April 26, 1874, in Germany. She came to the United States as a child, where she resided with her parents in Pennsylvania. Later the family moved to Plymouth County.

She was married to William Jeffers on March 24, 1889, in Akron. He preceded her in death about three years ago.

Mrs. Jeffers ran a grocery store in Seney, which was her home for many years, for twenty-five years, retiring about 15 years ago. Mrs. Jeffers also was Seney correspondent for The Globe-Post for many years. She ran the grocery store during the long sickness of her late husband.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11, at Seney Methodist church, of which she was a longtime member. Burial was in the LeMars City cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars. Rev. T.M. King officiated at last rites.

Survivors include a son, William I. Jeffers of Haxtun, Colorado and two grandchildren, Clyde William and Clinton Edward Jeffers, five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wm. Jeffers Rites at Seney

Mrs. William W. Jeffers, 84, who had operated a grocery store at Seney for many years, died Friday, Aug. 8, at Sacred Heart hospital after several months of illness. She had been hospitalized four days.

Last rites were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Seney Methodist church with Rev. T. M. King officiating. Burial was in the LeMars city cemetery under direction of Mauer's funeral home.

Alvina Dorthea Peterson was born April 26, 1874, in Germany. She came to this country and Pennsylvania as a child, later moving to Plymouth county where she had resided since.

She was married to William Jeffers, March 24, 1889, at Akron. He preceded her (in) death three years ago.

Survivors include a son, William I. Jeffers of Haxtun, Colo.; two grandchildren, twins Clyde William and Clinton Edward Jeffers, and five great-grandchildren.
