GEORGE JOHN HOWE

Hinton, Iowa---George John Howe, 80, died Tuesday,November 20, 1979, of rural Hinton, died in a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 1979, at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton with
the Rev. Arthur Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Funeral Home of LeMars.

Mr. Howe was born July 20, 1899, at Lubeck, Germany. He came to the U.S. in 1910 with his parents and siblings; first settling in Moville, Iowa. He moved to Plymouth County in 1914. He lived on and worked the same farm for 56 years. He married Amanda Ida Emma (Ideker)March 7,1923, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton. He was a member there throughout his life.

Survivors include his wife, three sons and their wives, Lloyd and Mavis of rural Hinton, Lowell and Shirley of Phoenix, Arizona, and Loren and Bernice of Goehner, Nebraska. 15 grandchildren, Kathleen and her husband William Baker, Ronald and Christine Howe, Hollie and Danny Cummins, Jerry and Sue Howe, James, Craig and Sue Howe, Rod, Mary and Russell Kent, Tom and Richard Howe, Janet and Tom Patricca, Dennis and John and Jolene Howe. Eleven great-grandchildren. And a brother and his wife, Henry and Caroline Howe of rural Hinton.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, a brother Carl, and a great grandson, Christopher Boyd Baker. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church of Hinton.
