Long Time Perry Resident Dies Earl Williams
Funeral services for Earl Williams, 89, Rest Vew Nursing home, Sioux City and formerly of Perry township will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the W. Harry Christy Funeral home, 711 Myrtle St., Sioux City. Rev. Wallace A. Stark of Whitfield United Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty township cemetery, west of Hinton.
Mr. Williams died Tuesday at the nursing home after a long illness. Mr. Williams was born in rural Hinton, July 20, 1884, and has lived most of his life in Plymouth county. He was a retired farmer and blacksmith. He married Belle Husted at Westfield, March 19, 1907. She died in 1916. He married Laura Smith at Ponca, Neb., Oct. 25, 1919. He was a Methodist.
Survivors incluve the widow; eight sons, Lester and John of Sioux City, Daryl of South Sioux City, Melvin and Gary both of Westfield, Howard and Richard, both of Merrill and Paul of Hinton; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Woodruff of Redondo, Calif., and Mrs. Doris Williams of Haywood, Calif.; a brother, Frank of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Lansbury, Mrs. Elsie Howard and Mrs. Ethel Christensen, all of Sioux City; 19 granchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Lounsbury, Ervin Vehe, Charles Pridie, Bruce Elliott, and Leonard and David Kroll.
