Mrs. Frances Bauerly 1884-1972

Mrs. Frances Bauerly, 87, Merrill, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Mercy hospital, Sioux City, after a lengthy illness.

Frances Poradek was born Aug. 2, 1883 at Hinton the daughter of the late Bart (name printed was Joseph but someone crossed it out and wrote Bart) and Mary Kurdle Poradek. (not spelling of maiden names, too) Her marriage to William Bauerly took place Feb. 5, 1907, at St. Joseph church, Ellendale. He preceded her in death in 1955.

The couple farmed near Merrill nearly 50 years and Mrs. Bauerly moved to Sioux City in 1955.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church and the altar society.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph church, Ellendale, with Rev. James Fangman officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home in LeMars.

The parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Allison Bauerly, Sioux City; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Boden, Garden Grove, Calif.; Mrs. Herman (Lois) Besch, Sioux City and Mrs. Rueben (Wilma) Brown, Federal Way, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; also a sister Mrs. Anne Armstrong, Sioux City.
