Peter Braun, Johnson Township Farmer,
Died Friday, October 29Peter Braun, a retired Johnson township farmer, who made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Russell, died Friday, October 29. He had been in poor health for two years and had been seriously ill this last six weeks.
Peter Braun was born July 2, 1869, in Weidenhahn, Germany, and came to United States with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Braun, when 12 years old and spent most of his life farming in Johnson township.
Mr. Braun was married Nov. 17, 1897, at St. Joseph Catholic church in LeMars to Emma (Note: should say Anna) Eulberg, who with two sons and a daughter preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Frank of Merrill and Clarence of LeMars and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Russell, LeMars, and Mrs. Otto Osterbuhr of Akron; two brothers, Chris of Sioux City and Clarence Smith of Norfolk, Neb., and two sisters, Mrs. Emma King and Mrs. Josephine Betsworth of LeMars. There are nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Akron, with Father Ernest officiating and burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, LeMars.
