ADOLPH EPLING DIES OF EXERTION DUE TO FLOOD
Worked Cleaning Up At Hinton and At Leeds

Adolph Epling, 70, 4135 Tyler Street, Leeds, Iowa, died Wednesday morning at the farm home of a son, Glen, west of Hinton.

Both Epling residences, the one in Leeds and the one near Hinton, were in the flood area, and he died as the result of over-exertion in cleaning up. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for the past two years.

Mr. Epling was born February 28, 1883, in Plymouth County. Prior to moving to Sioux City six years ago, he spent his entire life farming in Stanton township, Plymouth County, Iowa.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Survivors include the widow, Anna; two sons, Glen of Hinton and Earl, of Merrill; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Peterson of Hinton and Mrs. Elsie Heiden, of Merrill; and three grandchildren.

A brief service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds, with Rev. Eldon L. Brandt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City with Luken’s funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Rudy Schultz, Ray Peterson, Robert Kovarna, Arnold Epling, Arlin Epling, and Walter Hartman.
